Osamu Takizawa was born in Kyoto on January 23, 1962. He received B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees from
Kyoto University
in 1985 and 1987, respectively, and Ph.D. in engineering from
Osaka University
in 1997. In 1987 he joined the Radio Research Laboratory (formerly called Communications Research Laboratory (CRL), now called
National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT)
) of Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) (reorganized as
Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications (MPHPT)
in Jan.2001), Japan. he has been a senior research scientist of the Intelligent Processing Section at the Kansai Advanced Research Center (a branch of CRL), a senior research official of the Planning Division of CRL, and a deputy director of Technology Development Division, Communications Policy Bureau, MPT. Now he is the director of Public Relations Planning Office of NICT. He is also visiting professor of Tokyo Gakugei University. He received
the Shinohara Young Engineer Award
from
the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers of Japan
in 1991. He is a member of
